Class Description:

This is a therapy group for survivors of mental, emotional, physical and/or sexual violence, including SRA survivors, trafficking survivors, and others with complex PTSD.

Did you grow up in an environment where you experienced violence, gaslighting, mockery or neglect? Were you adultified at a young age, taking care of unstable or narcissistic parents? Were you a victim of incest or sexual abuse? Did you grow up with domestic violence, alcoholism, physical beatings or unpredictable and unstable parental figures? Were you in the foster care system? Did you grow up in a cult? Were you ritually abused? Do you struggle with relationships? Do you struggle with perfectionism? Are you a high achiever but struggle with self-esteem? Do you find yourself being emotionally reactive or shut down and numb? Are you fearful or anxious most of the time? Do you struggle with flashbacks or nightmares? Do you have trouble sleeping or focusing? Do you both seek closeness and also push people away? Do you feel stuck or unable to fulfill your highest potential?

If you want to conquer your symptoms and heal your trauma, this group is for you. Each group will be limited to 12 participants who will be together for the duration of 12 weeks. The environment will be safe and supportive and facilitated by Max Lowen, an experienced psychotherapist with decades of experience in group therapy, and a survivor herself who has engaged in her own journey of healing and recovery from complex trauma.

Our focus will be on exploring our trauma and learning how to recover from the ways trauma disabled us mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We will be forging a path from victim to survivor and ultimately to thriving in our lives. We will address our inner child wounding, our mental, emotional and behavioral programs and learn to use our triggers to find and process memories. The only prerequisites for this group are a willingness to explore our inner selves, openness in sharing and learning from others, and taking personal responsibility for our reactions and healing.

Groups can be a great support network and a way to help see our issues from different perspectives. We so often feel isolated in our trauma and being around others who share similar experiences and can be very healing in and of itself. Group members may help each other with advice and also nudge each other to grow and become accountable. Group therapy can help with finding our voice and relating to others in a healthy manner. There are many known and documented benefits to doing inner work in a group format, including a lower cost. Investing in our mental health not only changes our lives and relationships for the better, but ultimately creates change in the global collective.
